Board

COC Amsterdam e.o. is an association run by the board. The association has about 1,900 members. Twice a year all members are invited to the general meeting (ALV) in which the board gives an account of its activities and the treasurer gives an explanation of the finances. This general meeting is also the time when sitting board members can resign and new board members are elected by the members. Before new board members are elected they have to be prospective members of the board for at least 3 months. The ALV is the highest body within the association, this is a democratic process. COC Amsterdam e.o. is the largest democratic lhbtqia+ association with members in Amsterdam.

All board members work as unpaid volunteers at COC Amsterdam e.o.. This fits the philosophy of our interest group. Since the board members also hold other positions outside COC Amsterdam e.o., this way a whole new network is brought into the association. COC Amsterdam e.o. strives for a diverse board so that all marginalized groups it supports are represented.

The board consists of a president, treasurer, secretary and general board members who each have their own areas of interest.
